#67 Ret Aura and Thorns Snapshotting

Status: Closed · Area: Classes & Specs · Paladin

Retribution Aura and Thorns scale with spell power and snapshot it when cast, which encourages odd gear hoarding.

Current behavior

Both ret aura and thorns appear to scale with SP and snapshot this.

Expected behavior

I would assume that if scaling with SP is intended, the snapshotting probably isn't as it promotes some odd gear hoarding behaviors.

How to reproduce

1. Make a pally
2. Equip a set of spell damage gear
3. Turn ret aura off then on
4. Cause damage with ret aura
5. Unequip gear
6. Cause damage with ret aura
7. Turn ret aura off then on
8. Cause damage with ret aura again

* Note that damage steps 3 and 6 match and only after unequiping gear does this go down
