#420 Sweeping strikes accounts for both targets armour when calculating its damage.
Status: Open · Area: Classes & Specs · Warrior
Sweeping Strikes reduces damage using both targets' armor, so the copied hit is weaker than in Classic.
Current behavior
**Current Behaviour:** Here we have two identical (both level 24) mobs. Sweeping strikes should mirror the damage of the initial hits, since both mobs have the same amount of armour. Instead both sweeping charges are doing reduced damage. Now we have two zero-armour mobs, and the sweeping strikes hit mirrors the initial hit as expected.
Expected behavior
**Classic (and TBC) Behaviour:** Sweeping strikes replicates the hit on the first mob *before armour reduction*, and then applies however much armour the second mob has. Here is the same interaction as before (on current TBC client), but now the two hits are the same size despite the mobs having whatever their regular amount of armour is. If the second mob had more armour the hit would be lower, but in no case does sweeping strikes reduce its own damage by *both* mobs' armour. The implications of this bug are that, vs high armour targets (e.g. regular quest mobs while solo, or god forbid bear druids), your sweeping strikes damage is massively reduced from the way it would have worked in Vanilla or in TBC. Arms is already a pretty questionable spec and this bug pretty much dumpsters one of its few redeeming features.
How to reproduce
Find two mobs and use sweeping strikes.
