#413 [Quest] An Old History Book (Duskwood) - quest-starting book is not a shared drop in a group

Status: Awaiting review · Area: Quests · Quest Drops

In a group, An Old History Book drops for only one player, so the others must keep killing for their own copy.

Current behavior

Item: An Old History Book (2794), which starts the quest An Old History Book (337) for Milton Sheaf in Stormwind. It drops from Flesh Eaters in Duskwood. In a group of 2, the book only drops for one player. The other group member has to keep killing Flesh Eaters on their own to get a copy. In original Classic this book was a normal single-looter drop. Other quest items in Forever drop for every eligible group member (for example the Sack of Fish from Frosthowl did earlier in the beta, see #412), so a quest starter that only one member of a group can get stands out. Build: 1.60.1.70450

Expected behavior

When An Old History Book drops in a group, every group member who can take the quest gets a copy (a shared drop), so a group can pick up and do the quest together.

How to reproduce

1. Form a group of 2; neither player has An Old History Book or quest 337.
2. Kill Flesh Eaters in Duskwood until the book drops.
3. Only one player can loot An Old History Book; the other gets none.
