#380 Missing Dalaran → Stormwind portal leaves newly arrived Alliance Skyborne facing much higher-level enemies
Status: Awaiting review · Area: NPCs & World · Travel & Zones
The Dalaran to Stormwind portal is gone, so new Alliance Skyborne must cross much higher-level enemy areas to reach a fitting questing zone.
Current behavior
Description: The Stormwind to Dalaran portal connection was previously available, and I used it on my Skyborne character. After logging back in later, I found the portal missing. This also appears to affect progression after the Skyborne starting area. Characters leaving Zephras Isle at around level 14 arrive near Dalaran. Without the portal to Stormwind, the route toward Southshore takes them through enemies around level 26 while trying to reach a level-appropriate questing area like Westfall. My understanding is that Horde Skyborne are taken to Mulgore after leaving Zephras Isle, while Alliance Skyborne take a ship to Dalaran. I don’t have a Horde character to verify that experience firsthand. If the Dalaran → Stormwind portal is missing, Alliance characters arriving around level 14 appear to lose their safe onward connection to a level-appropriate area. That difficulty spike for the alliance questing route makes me suspect the disappearance may be a bug rather than an intended change.
Expected behavior
Expected result: The portal remains available to eligible Skyborne characters, or there is a clearly indicated, level-appropriate onward route after Zephras Isle. Actual result: The portal is missing. Travelling toward Southshore to continue toward Stormwind exposes newly arrived characters to substantially higher-level enemies.
