#352 [Hunter] Active Hawk keeps casting with !Aspect; stance API reports 0
Status: Open · Area: Classes & Specs · Hunter
Hunter macros keep recasting Aspect of the Hawk while it is active because the game cannot detect that it is on.
Current behavior
Aspect of the Hawk can be cast repeatedly while it is already active. Neither of these macros skips an already active Hawk: /cast [nostance:1] Aspect of the Hawk **Recorded environment:** WoW Forever beta 1.60.1, build **70205**, interface 16001, English client. The manual test was performed **October 5, 2026**, out of combat. With Hawk active (aura spell ID **14318**), the diagnostic recorded: Indexes 1 through 6 all returned NO_MATCH for stance and MATCH for nostance. During the labeled `!Aspect` test, **five separate UNIT_SPELLCAST_SUCCEEDED events** fired for Hawk while the same Hawk aura instance (31) remained active. The labeled `nostance` test recorded three successful Hawk casts. Its initial snapshot contained Cheetah; after switching to Hawk, `[nostance:1]` still matched. Hawk also disappeared between subsequent casts during that test.
Expected behavior
Hunter macros should have a working way to ensure the desired aspect is active without repeatedly casting that already active aspect. Active aspects should be detectable through supported macro conditions, and a macro intended to keep Hawk enabled should avoid redundant aspect casts.
How to reproduce
1. On a Hunter with Aspect of the Hawk, create two separate macros using the commands above. 2. Activate Aspect of the Hawk. 3. Press the `[nostance:1]` macro repeatedly, allowing the aspect cooldown to finish between presses. 4. Observe that the condition still permits casting with Hawk active. 5. Ensure Hawk is active, then test the `!Aspect` macro separately, allowing the cooldown between presses. 6. Observe repeated successful Hawk casts while Hawk remains active. 7. Compare the active Hawk aura against the shapeshift API and macro-condition results listed above.
