#343 Rogue Scarlet Monastery Class Quest Exploit — Disguise Allows Unlimited Chest Farming Without Aggro

The Scarlet Crusade disguise from the rogue class quest lets rogues loot dungeon chests without being attacked, enabling repeated farming.

Current behavior

During the new level 30 Rogue class quest in Scarlet Monastery [The Eye of Bhossca](https://www.wowhead.com/forever/quest=78676/the-eye-of-bhossca), players obtain a [Scarlet Crusade disguise](https://www.wowhead.com/forever/item=210955/scarlet-initiates-uniform) that makes most Scarlet Crusade NPCs non-hostile. While wearing this disguise, Rogues can open and loot ordinary treasure chests without removing the disguise or triggering nearby NPC aggression. This allows players to repeatedly farm Scarlet Monastery chests with little to no combat by leaving and resetting the dungeon. Additionally, players have reported that the disguise can be placed in the bank before turning in the quest, potentially allowing them to retain it after quest completion. This creates a repeatable, zero to no risk gold farming method.

Expected behavior

The Scarlet Crusade disguise should allow Rogues to complete their class quest as intended, without granting unrestricted access to ordinary dungeon treasure chests. The disguise specifically states "[Suspicious activity will break the disguise.](https://www.wowhead.com/forever/spell=427592/scarlet-initiates-uniform)" In my opinion opening or interacting with ordinary treasure chests should count as a suspicious activity and either: - Remove the disguise and restore normal NPC hostility, or - Be disallowed while the disguise is active. Alternatively, ordinary dungeon treasure chests could be excluded from the Rogue-specific quest instance while preserving quest-required chests. The disguise should also be correctly removed or invalidated when the quest is completed, regardless of whether it is in the player's inventory, equipped, or stored in the bank.

How to reproduce

1. Reach level 30 on a Rogue and begin the new class quest received through the letter from "C".
2. Progress through the quest until obtaining the Scarlet Crusade disguise from the supply locker near the Scarlet Monastery stables.
3. Equip the disguise and enter the relevant Scarlet Monastery quest instance.
4. Approach an ordinary treasure chest located near Scarlet Crusade NPCs.
5. Open and loot the chest while wearing the disguise.
6. Observe that the disguise remains active and nearby Scarlet Crusade NPCs do not become hostile.
7. Repeat with other available treasure chests or after resetting the instance.

Additional reported behavior to verify:
8. Before completing the quest, place the disguise in the bank.
9. Complete the class quest and check whether the banked disguise remains usable afterward.
