#33 Forming or leaving a party sometimes immediately layers you without warning

Status: Awaiting review · Area: Server & Account · Realms & Layers

Joining or leaving a party sometimes silently moves you to a different layer without warning.

Current behavior

Sometimes when forming a party with someone on the same layer as you, OR when leaving a party, you will be immediately layered to a different layer. I've observed this on Doomhowl Hardcore, during the Blizzcon Forever Demo, and again on the Forever Beta

Expected behavior

I would expect NOT to change layers under either scenario.

How to reproduce

1. Find a player on your layer
2. Find a point of reference (e.g. enemies)
3. Invite the other player and have them accept
4. Sometimes you will both be layered to an entirely different layer
5. Play the game for a bit while in party
6. Leave the party
7. Sometimes you will immediately be layered to a different layer
