#315 [Mac OS] Keybindings using "Shift" or "Ctrl" modifiers can't be used while pressing W
Status: Awaiting review · Area: UI & Interface · Action Bars & Keybinds
On Mac, holding W to run forward blocks any keybind that uses Shift or Ctrl, so those abilities cannot be used while moving.
Current behavior
Currently when you have a keybind using "Shift" or "Ctrl" modifier (like let's say Shift+1 or Ctrl+1) it doesn't activate as long as you hold W: - if you bind any other key to run forward (like let's say alternative "Up arrow") you can hold that key and use keybinding that use "Shift" or "Ctrl" modifier - if you bind W to other action (like let's say moving backward) you still won't be able to use any keybinding that has "Shift" or "Ctrl" modifier while holding W - you can use bindings without modifiers/using "Alt" or "Cmd" modifier while holding "W" - I've made sure that nothing is using "Shift"+"W" or "Ctrl"+"W" bindings Which leads me to believe it's something with "W" handling that's preventing keybinds that use "Shift" or "Ctrl" from working Marked issue as Mac OS, since i was only able to test it there, so i don't know if it's Mac OS only or something affecting all the platforms
Expected behavior
You can hold "W" and use any other keybinds at the same time, just like it works with other buttons
How to reproduce
1. Make some keybinding containing "Shift" or "Ctrl" and bind it to Action bar (i used "shift"+"1" for action bar 3 in my tests and later replaced it with "ctrl"+"1" to the same effect) 2. Place some instant spell in that action bar slot 3. Hold "W" 4. Press "Shift"+"1" (or "Ctrl"+"1" if you're using that for test), see that spell doesn't get activated
