#304 Predator's Edge: crit damage bonus not applied to white melee attacks
Status: Not a bug · Area: Classes & Specs · Hunter
Predator's Edge's extra crit damage applies to hunter melee abilities but not to regular auto-attacks, so talent value is lower than described.
Current behavior
Predator's Edge (Rank 5) reads "Increases your melee critical strike damage by 30%". The bonus applies to Raptor Strike, Strider Kick, Mongoose Bite and Wing Clip, but not to auto attacks (white melee). The off-hand damage part of the talent works. Measured from two combat logs (critical hit damage divided by normal hit damage, armor removed): - White melee: 1.95x (124 crits) and 1.97x (71 crits), a plain 2x crit with no bonus - Raptor Strike: 2.51x and 2.73x - Strider Kick: 2.21x and 2.36x - Mongoose Bite: 2.23x and 2.31x
Expected behavior
White melee critical strikes should get the same 30% critical strike damage bonus as Raptor Strike and the other melee abilities.
How to reproduce
1. Learn Predator's Edge (Rank 5). 2. With combat logging on, attack a target dummy with auto attacks only, then with Raptor Strike and Wing Clip. 3. Compare critical hits to normal hits: white crits are exactly 2x a normal hit, while Raptor Strike and Wing Clip crits are higher.
