#302 Warlock - Soul Link: castable below level 30 via Talented, but no buff is applied (mana still consumed)

Status: Fixed · Area: Classes & Specs · Warlock

Warlocks who learn Soul Link before level 30 can cast it and lose the mana, but no buff appears until level 30.

Current behavior

When Soul Link is learned before level 30 through Talented, the spell can be cast normally. It goes through, the cast completes and the mana cost is consumed, but no Soul Link buff appears on either the player or the pet. No damage sharing or other damage buff is applied. After the character reaches level 30, Soul Link works as intended. The buff appears on both the player and the pet, and the effect is active.

Expected behavior

Soul Link should behave the same at every level. It should apply the buff to the player and pet and work normally.

How to reproduce

1. Create or log in to a Warlock below level 30.
2. Learn Soul Link through Talented.
3. Summon a demon.
4. Cast Soul Link.
5. Observe: mana is consumed, but no Soul Link buff appears on the player or pet.
6. Level the character to 30 (or test on a level 30+ Warlock with the same talent).
7. Cast Soul Link again.
8. Observe: the buff now appears on both player and pet and works as intended.
