#266 Prayer of Healing behavior

Prayer of Healing heals a smaller area than Priests expect because cast range and heal radius are measured differently.

Current behavior

There are a few things that are being discussed among priests (some things can be also related to WG with same mechanic, but we can't reach it at beta): 1. PoH heals within a smaller radius than the healer expects PoH has 40y range cast to target with 40y range of heal around target, but those ranges calc different Range to target of cast calcs edge-to-edge of hitboxes Range around target of casts calc center-to-edge It looks somehow like this: For this reason, the healer will not receive healing from a target located at the edge of the range, even though the standard raid frames will show that the distance is fine 2. Both PoH cast and PoH heals check state of LOS of the target. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure not only that the right target is chosen, but also to consider the positions of other players relative to it It looks somehow like this: 3. Heal prediction of PoH is far away from truth, also not included at prediction state of point 2 for raid frames 4. Pets can't be target of PoH: you can cast PoH at pet but at the end it interrupts with "Invalid target" error Pet can't be healed if you heal their owner but he isn't in your group

Expected behavior

1. Back to SoD for spell like CoH/WG was made different range and radius of spells They had both 40y range and 43.5y radius WG in WoW:F has same values so may be for PoH expected same values? 2. Unknown expected behavior In Era PoH didn't have same check for radius In SoD CoH/WG had LOS check for radius of heal In TBC CoH heal hits through the walls 3. Heal prediction shows close to correct healing value 4. You can cast heal at pet

How to reproduce

1. Grab few people to test in group
2. Put one behind wall
3. Put priest at edge of 40y to cast PoH
4. Cast PoH
5. Target will get heal/Target behind wall wouldn't
