#226 Secondary lighting toggle Good -> Fair -> Good weirdly increases FPS by +-50
Status: Awaiting review · Area: Graphics & Art · Lighting & Shadows
Switching Secondary Lighting from Good to Fair and back raises FPS by about 50, so starting on Good performs worse than it should.
Current behavior
Toggling Secondary lighting from Good to fair and back to Good increases FPS with about +-50 FPS. Version : 1.60.1 (70205) (Beta x65) Platform : Windows 11 Graphics card : Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070Ti
Expected behavior
Starting the game with Secondary lighting set to Good should have the same FPS as toggling from Good to Fair and back to Good.
How to reproduce
1. Start game with Secondary lighting set to Good 2. Press CTRL-R to show FPS 3. Note the FPS (e.g. 185 FPS) 4. Set Secondary lighting to Fair 5. Note the increase of FPS (e.g. 225 FPS) and the poor secondary lighting. 6. Set Secondary lighting to Good 7. Note that the FPS don't drop (e.g. 225 FPS) yet the secondary lighting is active! 8. Reboot the game (with Secondary lighting still set to Good) and notice that the FPS is again low(er) - e.g. 185 FPS
