#223 Pets will cancel next attack command and return to player if it's previous target dies before hitting/agroing next mob

Status: Awaiting review · Area: NPCs & World · Mobs & Creatures

If your pet's old target dies while it runs to a new one, the pet cancels the attack and returns to you.

Current behavior

While questing and fighting multiple mobs in sequence with pets, there is at least one case where your pet will return to you despite issuing an attack command on the next mob you want to kill. This usually happens when the first mob (mob 1) dies while the pet is en route to the next mob (mob 2) but does not hit or agro the next mob. This is detailed in the reproduction steps. I don't know if it is 100% consistent, but it is very easy to reproduce. Have reproduced on both Hunter and Warlock. I’ve tested this with both a mouseover /petattack macro `/petattack [@mouseover, exists, nodead][@target, exists, nodead]` AND by directly binding the pet’s Attack from the spell book with same results.

Expected behavior

Your pet continues on to attack the next mob. It should not matter if the previous target dies.

How to reproduce

1. Set pet on passive (also occurs when on Assist)
2. `/petattack` mob 1
3. Do some damage to mob 1 (dots, bow, wand etc)
4. When mob 1 is 10% health:
    * stop wand/bow attacks
    * target mob 2 and /petattack. Note: Mob 2 should be fair distance way such that mob 1 dies while the pet is still running to mob 2. Do not accidentally wand/bow attack mob 2
5. Finish killing mob 1 before the pet can attack or agro mob 2
