#198 Warlock Ritual of Summoning allows porting players into instance from outside the zone
Status: Seen · Area: NPCs & World · Travel & Zones
A Warlock's Ritual of Summoning can pull players from outside the dungeon, even from another zone, straight into an instance.
Current behavior
Warlock's Ritual of Summoning allows players located outside the instance (and outside the zone) to be summoned directly inside a dungeon or raid instance once 2 players are inside the portal.
Expected behavior
Warlock summons should not function across instance boundaries when the target player is located outside the instance or in a different zone. Attempting to summon a party or raid member who is outside the instance while the warlock is inside should fail. Bypassing world travel and instance boundaries removes intended travel friction and open-world PvP interactions.
How to reproduce
1. Join a group containing a Warlock and at least 2 other players. 2. Have 2 players (including the Warlock) enter any dungeon or raid instance. 3. Have a 3rd player remain outside the instance and outside the zone (e.g., in Orgrimmar or Stormwind). 4. Inside the instance, cast **Ritual of Summoning** targeting the player in the city. 5. Have 2 party members click the portal to complete the summon. 6. The target player receives the summon dialog and ports directly inside the instance.
