#173 Broken interface functions - reporting, ignoring, chat-filtering

Status: Awaiting review · Area: UI & Interface · Chat & Social

Reporting players always says the report system is unavailable, temporary ignore does nothing, and the ignore list is wiped after relogging.

Current behavior

Currently: Any and all attempts to report someone (via target, right click frame, report; via chat right click name report, or via mail report player button) return "report system unavailable." (see attached images). In addition, both the 'temp ignore' that usually functions on right-click reporting a message via chat for inappropriate communication, spam, advertisement, or name AND the right-click 'ignore' function are broken and failing to function as normal. The temp ignore does not occur at all, likely as a result of the report system being disabled or unavailable. The ignore function will ignore the selected player, but reset your ignore list to empty on a relog, leading to seeing the spam / ToS-violation chats / slurs / whispers / guild invites again. Tickets opened to support for this issue lead to the tickets being force-closed with no ability to reopen, and the direction given by CSRs is to "reach out to the Forever Devs via bug reports and feedback forms to make them aware of the issues."

Expected behavior

Right-click ignore should persist through relogs. Right-click reports should temp ignore. Right click reports should function and lead to human review for possible account actions.

How to reproduce

1. Log on to WoW Forever's beta, in any zone and any ruleset
2. Witness the slurs and various forms of ToS and common decency violating terms being thrown around
3. Right-click ignore any of their posters
4. Relog
5. Note that you can still see their posts and messages
6. Right-click report one
7. Note that the system message 'report system unavailable' is displayed, despite the 'thank you for reporting' popup also being present
8. Note that despite reporting for inappropriate communication, the individual is not temporarily ignored.
