#151 Thick Hide passive lost when switching directly from cat to bear, or bear to cat.

Status: Fixed · Area: Classes & Specs · Druid

Shifting directly between cat and bear form loses the armor bonus from Thick Hide, which hurts tanking and survival.

Current behavior

Version 1.60.1.70291 Updated. It was found that if you go from cat form directly into bear form (ie skipping caster form), the Thick Hide passive bonus is lost completely. Likewise, shifting from bear directly to cat loses the bonus as well. It appears to apply the passive to the the first form you shift into from caster form. When I shift into Cat from caster form, I have the passive bonus. When I shift directly to bear, my Bear Form does not have the bonus. I can shift to cat and back to bear in this state and only Cat Form will have the bonus. Likewise, going from Caster Form to Bear, Bear form will have the passive applied. Shifting to cat, Cat form will not have it regardless of how many times I switch back and forth from bear. It seems like the passive is only applied to the first form that you take from caster form and that state persists. I'm guessing the script that applies the passive is checking when you shift if you were in caster form and applying the bonus. It should probably just check that the bonus is not already applied when you cast Bear, Dire Bear, Cat, or Moonkin form and apply the bonus if it needs to. EDIT 1 - I also tested travel form behavior. The bug persists even when switching from travel form to cat to bear. It seems like the what is actually happening is there is some kind of boolean check on casting feral forms. The talent bonus is only applying to the first feral form you shift into. And switching between feral forms will we not update the state for the second form.

Expected behavior

We expect to be able to shift from cat to bear and back and always have the bonus armor from the Thick Hide talent.

How to reproduce

From caster form, cast Bear Form with 3/3 Thick Hide Talent.
Record armor value.
Cancel form.
Cast Cat form.
From Cat Form, do not cancel form, cast Bear Form directly.
Observe the reduction in armor value equaling the expected value of the talent passive.
Note how you can shift back to cat form and observe the talent bonus, but shifting into Bear form from this state will never apply it.
