#11 Recurring Access Violations / Security Exceptions from WoWB_Loader.dll & WoWB.exe
Status: Open · Area: Server & Account · Login & Disconnects
The game keeps crashing from seconds to about ten minutes after launch, both in queue and in game, making it hard to play.
Current behavior
Two report IDs: `AF9F6A6E-546E-404B-BO9F-47A435580DAD` `C3C368A0-B647-4EC1-8D68-F09A84A54C53` _(there were at least half a dozen more I didn't save)_ `BBBDD144-5F1D-4FF4-964F-63DE3EA677DF` Here's a third one after forcing DX11 `7F7D72D7-A606-471C-9EDC-0D1073027341` And a fourth with a clean boot (aka literally every non-MS service disabled) Repeated crashes from `WoWB_loader.dll` ranging from 15 seconds post-launch to ~10 minutes post-launch. Happens in queue and in-game. Exception `0xC00000E5` and parameter `xE1D05001` with Internal reason `0x100` or `0x307` Exception flags are `0x81` The absolute memory address changes from crash to crash but the relative offsets remain identical. The problem persists after a complete filesystem _and_ registry cleanup of everything I could find related to WoW (all versions) or Blizzard. The problem continues to persist after re-installing windows in-place. The problem continues to persist with or without XMP enabled. The problem continues to persist after a BIOS update. The problem continued on a new Windows install on a totally different SSD. Weirdly, it works on my laptop with the same generation of cpu/gpu and exact same windows build / update status. Windows 11 25H2 (26200) Intel Core i9-14900k nVidia RTX 4090 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5@6400 CL32 (4x16) Logs and Dumps available (at least post-scouring) Also - this is exclusively a WoW Forever issue. Other versions work flawlessly.
Expected behavior
I mean... it shouldn't be crashing with access violations :)
How to reproduce
WowB.exe being open is literally all it takes.
